UPDATE: Bristol DA’s Office identify teen who died in officer-involved shooting

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has identified the victim in the officer-involved shooting.
The DA’s office says that an officer responded to a disturbance on Riggenbach Road near Airport Road at approximately 11:37 p.m. Sunday.
The officers observed several cars leaving the area. The first responding officer tried stopping a car from leaving the scene.
During the encounter, the police officer fired shots into the car, striking the driver.
Police say 19-year-old Larry Ruiz-Barreto, of New Bedford, was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
There were several cars in the area including a green hatchback that had smoke coming out of it, according to the caller.
Following that incident, police responded to a disturbance at Charlton Memorial Hospital where they arrested five people and say it was related to the shooting.
The five suspects are as follows:
Jose Ruiz-Hernandez, 40.
Jonathan Ruiz-Hernandez, 31.
Demix Ruiz-Hernandez, 36.
Miguel Sanchez, 25.
Leslie Lugo, 41.
All plead not guilty to various charges ranging from interfering with police to vandalizing property.
