Fall River police officers honored by Celtics for ski slope rescue

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Two Fall River police officers were honored by the Boston Celtics for a heroic ski slope rescue of a skier who was found unresponsive.
Officers Garrett Nelson and Guy Furtado appeared at TD Garden as part of the Heroes Among Us initiative on Sunday April 14, 2024 as the Celtics welcomed the Washington Wizards to Boston.
The incident took place on January 28 at Okemo Mountain Resort when the officers were about to take one last pass at the slope.
They came across a man calling for help after his son had collapsed on the trail.
The officers quickly called 911 and administered life-saving CPR on Nathan Polzun with the assistance of his father William Polzun, Jr.
