Fall River police searching for suspect in smoke shop robbery

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department is asking the public for assistance in the search for a suspect in a robbery that took place Wednesday night.

Sgt. Moses Pereira said that around 9 p.m. a masked individual entered the Atlas Smoke Shop on Hope Street, brandished a knife at the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk complied and the suspect then exited the building.

Pereira said that the suspect is between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall, spoke with an accent, and was wearing a face covering.
