Fall River Police: Shooting investigation leads to three arrests

FALL RIVER, MASS (WLNE) – Fall River Police arrested two males and one female after a shooting investigation lead to the recovery of a firearm, drugs and cash. 

Police say at approximately 2:00 a.m on Wednesday, they were dispatched to the area of 24 Branch Street for a report of shots fired. 

The department says further information was that a male was claiming he was shot and ran off, to hide from a potential shooter. 

Responding officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the intersection of Morgan and Fourth Street, approximately one block from the suspected shooting area. 

Police observed a male standing near the rear passenger, who police say became visibly nervous, reached for his waistband and bent over into the vehicle leaning out of sight. 

An investigation began into the vehicle and it’s occupants after a third officer arrived on scene. 

Police discovered a .22 caliber revolver, a semi automatic BB-Gun replica pistol, approximately 12 grams of Heroin, 3 grams of Marijuana, 1 pill of Gabapentin and seized $321 in cash from the vehicle. 

29-year-old Lawrence Francis of Sutton Vermont, and 28-year-old Kayla Cowdrey, of Lunenberg Vermont were charged with the following: 

  • Assault & Battery by Discharging a Firearm
  • Possession of a Non-Large Capacity firearm without an LTC in Public
  • Discharging a Firearm within 500ft of a Dwelling
  • Possession of a Firearm in commission of a Felony
  • Possess to Distribute Class A Drug
  • Possess Class E Drug

26-year-old Johnathan Argyle, also of Lunenberg, was charged with the aforementioned charges as well as Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public without and LTC. 

Police say a 32-year-old victim was located as part of the investigation, suffering from non-life threatening injuries to his tricep and hand.
