Fall River road work to begin

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that road work will begin today in the area of Route 79 and Davol Street.

Drivers will be unable to access the U-turn in place between the Cove Restaurant and Senator Thomas Norton City Pier.

Traffic on route six eastbound and the Route 79 southbound ramp from the Veterans’ Memorial Bridge will shift slightly to the east, while traffic on the Route 79 southbound passing under route six eastbound and Route 79 southbound ramp will shift slightly west.

MassDOT is transforming the mile-long road to improve mobility, connectivity and safety along and across Route 79 and Davol Street.
