Fall River to open cold weather overflow shelter

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The City of Fall River said it was opening an extreme cold weather overflow shelter in collaboration with the First Step Inn Sunday.

The shelter will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Jan. 5.

It will be located at the inn’s first floor conference room, located at 134 Durfee St.

“Anyone in need of assistance with their emergency shelter needs is urged to call 508-676-3528 the FAST Response Team’s 24-hour homeless hotline,” the city said. “For permanent shelter needs please call the First Step Inn at 508-679-8001.”
