Fall River woman arrested for possessing stolen car

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — A Fall River woman is in custody after attempting to elude police in a stolen vehicle Friday.

Janessa Quino, 21, was the subject of an attempted stop by Dartmouth police on Old Westport Road while driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla after police learned the vehicle was reported stolen.

Quino accelerated in an attempt to flee police and a Dartmouth officer successfully deployed a gradual tire deflation device.

The vehicle safely came to a stop on Hathaway Road near Tradewind Street where Quino was arrested.

She is charged with receiving a stolen vehicle, reckless operation and failure to stop for police.
