Fall River’s Harbormaster under investigation following a motor vehicle accident

A spokesperson for Mayor Sam Stutter’s office confirmed Friday that Fall River’s Harbormaster is being investigated by city police.

Pending an investigation involving a motor vehicle accident with a young motorist, Harbormaster Bruce Bannister has been suspended without pay. Bannister was not working while the incident happened.

While Bannister was Harbormaster he was arrested and charged for Larceny in 2014, but the case was dropped.  

The Mayor’s office has said that Asst. Harbormaster Bob Smith has been named Harbormaster.
