Familiar faces, supernatural creatures to appear at Rhode Island Comic Con

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Comic Con has something for all ages this year.
Convention officials announced Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei as the latest celebrity set to make an appearance. Tomei will meet with fans on Saturday and Sunday of the convention.
Tomei is most recently known as Aunt May, a central character in the “Spider-Man” movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She played the unforgettable Mona Lisa Vito alongside Joe Pesci and Ralph Macchio in the 1992 film”My Cousin Vinny.” Her quick-witted character earned Tomei an Academy Award.
Rhode Island Comic Con created a list of how to meet Tomei and other celebrity guests.
Other big names known from now and then include Christina Ricci, who gained fame from an early age as the original Wednesday Addams.
Among many other supernatural projects, Ricci may turn heads for her recent role of Marilyn Thornhill in the coming-of-age comedy horror series “Wednesday.” Ricci will also be at the convention on Saturday and Sunday.
Fans of all things paranormal will also recognize Peter Facinelli as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” series. Facinelli will make a one-day appearance on Sunday.
Anthony Daniels, English actor best known as C-3PO in 11 “Star Wars” films, will meet with fans of the franchise on all three days of the convention.
Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall, who both rose to fame through the Brat Pack of the 1980s, will be in attendance. The duo is mostly known for the nostalgic hits “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles.”
Ringwald will be at the convention on Saturday and Sunday, and Hall is set to be there all three days.
Voice actors from many animated television shows and movies will also attend the annual convention, including Mindy Cohn, the iconic Velma from the Scooby Doo franchise.
Rhode Island Comic Con will be held from Nov. 3-5 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and the Amica Mutual Pavilion.
