Family of four displaced in East Providence fire

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two children and two adults are displaced following a fire in East Providence yesterday.

Fire officials responded to a home on Miles Street for a report of a fire.

According to officials, the cause of the fire was due to discarded smoking materials outside of the building, that ignited a couch being thrown out and trash cans.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is helping the family out in the coming days for a long-term recovery plan.
