FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Fans at Patriot Place on Thursday were shocked to hear that Bill Belichick and the Patriots organization reached a mutual agreement to part ways.
“We are going to miss Bill Belichick,” Mark Wilson of North Andover said. “Twenty-four years of greatness, nine Super Bowls, six titles, what else could you say? It was amazing. We wish him the best of luck.”

“Just really shocked, but I kind of knew it would come after the season, and it has been over 20 years, but it is going to be weird,” Dave Disilvistri of Millville said.
Some fans said they knew a change was on the horizon and speculation on the split had been looming for month.
“I am not going to say I am totally surprised,” Wilson said. “They have been talking about going in a different direction for a couple of years. We’ll see.”
Now begins the search for a new head coach, the first time the Patriots have had to look for a new coach in the 21st century.
