Father shot and killed

PROVIDENCE, RI- A bouquet of flowers, candles and a note– I love you little bro– sit near the steps where 20-year-old Ty–shon Perry ran for help after being shot Saturday morning.
One neighbor said, “I would say it was between 1:30, quarter of two. I heard like six, which I thought were fireworks or something like that going off but my husband said no, they were gun shots. And by the time I got to my front door, the police were already at the corner.”
Perry would be 21–years-old next month. His family was planning to hand out flyers to his surprise birthday party today. Instead, they’re lighting candles wondering why this happened.
“When we got the call we couldn’t even really talk. Do you know what I mean? It was. It’s really, really, bad,” said Ty-shon’s cousin, Karen Carle.
Perry recently graduated from New England Tech. His family says he just passed his board exam to be a state trooper- a dream he’s had every since he was little.
Neighbors I spoke with believe the shooting was targeted, but believe the shooter may have shot the wrong guy.
Carle adds, “I just feel like it’s not enough, what they’re doing out there to stop all these young kids from dying.
The family says Perry was not in a gang and that police told them they have a strong lead, and could be issuing an arrest warrant soon.
Police have not however confirmed that with Abc 6 news.
