FBI investigating in woods in Coventry
COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — FBI investigators were on scene in the woods off Eisenhower Street in Coventry Monday morning.
ABC6 reached out to the FBI for comment on why it is investigating in that area. The FBI referred comment to the Coventry police.
According to Coventry police Captain Ryan DeSisto, it was part of follow up for an ongoing Coventry police investigation.
DeSisto did not provide any additional details on the nature of that investigation.
Neighbors told ABC6 they’ve seen law enforcement activity in the area for weeks now, including drone searches.
A K-9 dog was also on scene assisting investigators. DeSisto said it was a Rhode Island State Police K-9.
Some of the investigators were wearing jackets with “FBI Evidence Response Team” written on the back.
