FBI searching Coventry woods in connection to found human remains investigation

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — A spokesperson for the Coventry Police Department revealed that the FBI’s search in the woods of Coventry is connected to an investigation into found human remains.

On December 10th, Coventry police Captain Ryan DeSisto revealed police were searching for any additional evidence that “may have been left behind within that area” for an investigation involving human remains.

On December 2nd, police and FBI were first spotted by nearby residents searching a wooded area.

Officials say there is no threat to the public.

Coventry police said it plans to hold a press conference at a later date, which has not yet been announced.
