Federal Hill bar ordered to close after overnight stabbing

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A bar on Federal Hill was ordered to close for 72 hours after an overnight stabbing outside the business.

According to Providence police, one man sustained non life-threatening injuries in the stabbing outside of the Saint establishment.

On Tuesday, the Providence Board of Licenses held an emergency meeting and ordered Saint close for 72 hours pending the release of surveillance footage of the incident.

Police said there is no suspect in custody in connection to the stabbing as of Tuesday afternoon.

The board will continue the meeting regarding the emergency closure of Saint on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
