Federal Hill celebrates Columbus Day Festival with parade

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The 31st annual Columbus Day Festival continued Sunday with a parade down Atwells Avenue.

The four-day festival on Federal Hill includes  food, art, and retail vendors alongside games and three stages for live entertainment.

Federal Hill Commerce Association President Rick Simone said that parade day is arguably the most popular day of the festival, with around 50,000 people attending.

“We expect the whole weekend to be 150,000 [attendees],” he said.
