Federal Hill Columbus Day Festival cut short due to weather

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Federal Hill Columbus Day Festival concluded early Sunday afternoon due to the weather.

Despite the premature closing, Federal Hill Commerce Association President Rick Simone said there was a great showing Friday and Saturday.

He said everything was on track until Sunday afternoon.

This was the 40th anniversary of the festival.

Simone said the organization is looking forward to continuing the tradition next year, preferably with better weather conditions.
