Fiery crash shuts down I-195 West in Seekonk

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — A major crash shut down I-195 West in Seekonk on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident involved a box truck and another vehicle, both of which caught fire.

It was the second multi-vehicle crash of the day in Seekonk, closing all lanes around 2:30 p.m.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the left lane reopened just after 3:30 p.m.

MassDOT added that temporary signs and message boards were being deployed to advise motorists to seek alternate routes.
