Fire at unoccupied home in North Smithfield

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The North Smithfield Fire Department said a 2nd alarm fire occurred on Greenville Road Sunday morning.

The fire occurred at an unoccupied house around 6:45 a.m.

The department said the fire started in the rear of the building.

The fire was knocked down shortly after it was declared a 2nd alarm, and there were no injuries.

The cause is still under investigation.
