Fire breaks out inside Providence duplex

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Firefighters are investigating after a fire broke out in a two-story duplex home in Providence on Wednesday.

According to the Robert Lyman with the Providence Fire Department’s Third Battalion, residents noticed the smoke when they arrived at their home on Seamans Street and called for help.

Firefighters entered the duplex and found a fire in one room. Officials said the fire did not spread and “a little damage” was reported inside.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and it is unknow if the one adult and three children who live there will be displaced.
