Fire burns through Block Island home

NEW SHOREHAM, R.I. (WLNE) – A Block Island home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday night.

According to New Shoreham Police Chief Vincent Carlone, the fire broke burned the Mohegan Trail home to the ground.

A strong easterly wind moved quickly led to the house being engulfed in flames.

Carlone said there were no deaths, but the family may have lost a few cats.

No information has been released, and this incident is under investigation.
