Fire damages Providence home

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Three people were displaced by a fire at their Hillcrest Avenue home Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to 201 Hillcrest Avenue just after 4:30 Saturday for reports of a fire at a residential home.

Battalion Chief Stephen Houle told ABC6 that the residents, two adults and one child, managed to escape the home.

Providence Fire crews had the fire under control in under an hour.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Battalion Chief Houle said the American Red Cross is assisting the people displaced by the fire.
