A fire in North Attleboro destroyed a three-floor apartment building Monday morning.

Fire Chief Ted Joubert say crews responded to the fire on Columbia Street around 10 a.m. this morning.

He said when crews arrived on scene, they saw fire in the back corner of the build that was energized by electricity.

Joubert says that played a huge role in the spread of the fire.

No one was injured.

Chief Joubert says a resident had to be restrained from trying to run back into the building to save his cats. It is believed they died.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
