Fire destroys home in Little Compton

LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A fire destroyed a home in Little Compton early Monday morning.
The fire broke out just before 2 a.m. on Baileys Ledge Road.
Fire Chief Richard Petrin said three people were inside the home at the time of the fire. According to Petrin, one person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
“The building was fully involved on arrival. So, we just protected the area and made sure the fire didn’t spread to any fields or other structures,” said Richard Petrin with Little Compton Fire Department chief.
Petrin said it took rescue crews 20 minutes to knock down the fire that had flames shooting out of the home, but what was left in the aftermath of the blaze was a home destroyed.
Petrin said the house has been deemed a total loss.
