Fire forces evacuation of Providence apartment complex

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A two-alarm fire forces the evacuation of a providence apartment building.

Firefighters were called to the Ambassador Providence building on Pitman Street around 9 p.m. Monday evening.

The fire started at the roof, forcing officials to evacuate the building.

One elderly woman was taken to the hospital with no word on her condition at this time.

The cause is still under investigation.
