Fire rips through 17th century hotel in Nantucket

NANTUCKET, Mass. (WLNE) — A fire ripped through a 17th century hotel in Nantucket over the weekend.
The Veranda House caught fire just after 7 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters worked to put out the flames for most of the day.
The fire spread to a home across the street from the 18-room boutique hotel, as well as the home to its left.
Hyannis and Yarmouth firefighters ferried out to the island to help fight the flames.
