Firefighters battle 5-alarm fire at Foxwoods Resort and Casino

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (WLNE) — Firefighters from multiple departments battled a five alarm fire at Foxwoods Resort and Casino on Nov. 18.

The Westerly Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched to assist with a fire at the casino just before 10 p.m.

On 12:52 a.m. on Wednesday, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Fire Department said the area had been “deemed safe and secure.”

Three firefighters were hospitalized for evaluation, and have since been released.

Nobody else was injured.

As a result of the fire, David Burke’s Prime Steakhouse is temporarily closed.

Officials said surrounding restaurants “may experience delayed openings.”

The casino remains open.
