Firefighters battle blaze at home in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE): Firefighters battled a fire at a home in Warwick on Sunday night.

The fire broke out on Oakland Beach Avenue, around 7 p.m.

Two people inside the home made it our safely.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation on the scene, according to a deputy fire marshal.

“Definitely could have been a lot worse,” Lt. Tom Brady with the Warwick Fire Dept. said. “Everyone was out safely, dogs are safe. The people are safe. So, we are happy with the results. It was a good save.”

Lt. Brady said the cold weather slowed things down, making it more difficult for firefighters.

A cause is still under investigation.
