Firefighters battle smoky blaze in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. — Firefighters are investigating what caused a smoky that displaced five people late Thursday evening.
Crews arrived to the two family home on Knight Street around 9:40 p.m., to see heavy amounts of smoke billowing from the second floor window.
Authorities say a family of four, as well as another person were displaced.
A male was also treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
Warwick Fire told ABC6 News the family cat passed away during the fire.
Knight Street is closed to traffic in both directions at this time.
