Firefighters in New Bedford battle house fire

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Firefighters responded to a fire on Ludlow Street on Sunday morning.

The New Bedford Fire Department said the fire originated in the garage of the house.

The garage was declared a complete loss, while the home sustained heat and smoke damage.

The male occupant of the house was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Providence Canteen was on scene and posted pictures of a damaged home.
