Firefighters investigating fire at homeless encampment in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Fire Department said it was investigating a fire that occurred at a homeless encampment off Interstate 95 North thursday.

The fire occurred near the off-ramp on Branch Avenue.

Firefighters said the fire was “confined to a footlocker and some personal belongings.”

There were no injuries.
