Firefighters responding to brush fire in Lincoln find deceased body

LINCOLN, R.I. — The Limerock Fire Department responded to a reported brush fire on Lincoln Meadows Road in Lincoln just before 10 p.m. Sunday night.

While extinguishing the fire, the body of a deceased adult was found.

Lincoln police responded and secured the scene. At this time, the death is being ruled suspicious and an investigation is underway.

The lot where the body was found is partially cleared for development but does not contain any structures.

Lincoln police are now working in conjunction with the State Fire Marshall and the State Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
