First Day of Summer!
Hello Summer!! Friday ends the week with a new season and the weather will be summery indeed. Mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower-80s will be accompanied by a very gusty northwesterly wind. Gusts today could reach 35 mph. If you are thinking of making today a beach day, be aware there is an elevated rip current risk at all south-facing beaches across Southern New England. Waves in Narragansett will be near 6 feet as well. The risk is high through this evening. Ask about the local conditions from the lifeguard and swim near the lifeguard. Tonight the Summer Solstice occurs at 10:41 pm. Weather-wise tonight, look for increasing clouds and lows near 65. Saturday will have a mix of sun and clouds and the slightest chance of a morning shower followed by mostly sunny skies and highs near 85. After midnight Saturday night, we have a slight chance of showers and even a thunderstorm that will last into Sunday morning. Sunday will have a mix of sun and clouds and highs near 87. Then we get to next week and the heat is ON! Monday will be mostly sunny, hot and humid with highs near 93 while Tuesday will be the hottest day of the stretch. Expect sunny skies and highs in the upper-90s and with the oppressive humidity, it will feel hotter than 100. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-80s. Thursday looks to have a mix of sun and clouds with comfortable humidity and cooler highs near 79.
