First responders battle house fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) The Providence Fire Department battled a house fire off of Ford Street Tuesday night.

According to Deputy Assistant Chief Robert Butler, it took first responders a little under an hour to put out the fire.

The house was vacant, and no injuries were reported.

The two houses next to it sustained minor damage to it’s exterior siding.

The families were evacuated from the adjacent houses and sat in police cars while the fire was put out.

Three adults and three children are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
