First responders fight a brush fire in Johnston

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Canteen and first responders are battling a large working brush fire off of Monson Street in Johnston.

ABC 6 News crews on the scene reported seeing fire engines, fire fighters in the woods with flashlights, and a tanker.

Special Signal Fire Association said it requested a tanker task force for the brush fire.

A resident who lives in the area told ABC 6 News crew that he saw a fire in the woods.
