First responders rescue man trapped in truck crushed by tree amid Monday storm
HOLBROOK, Mass. (WLNE) — Holbrook Police Chief William Smith said Holbrook police assisted in rescuing a man who was trapped in a truck after a tree fell on top of it during Monday’s storm.
According to police, just after 11 a.m., first responders were called to Maywood Road where a large tree had fallen onto the cab and bed of a pickup truck and trapped the driver inside.
Officials said the tree was estimated to be between two to three feet in diameter.
Firefighters used the jaws of life to free the driver, who was the only occupant inside the truck. The man who was visiting a home on Maywood road was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
Maywood Road remains closed out of an abundance of caution.
