First round of snow Saturday, second to come Sunday afternoon with a flash freeze
Winter is here, generating significant snow for many, mix for others, and no snow for some as well. This storm will come in two parts: first round is this morning, tapering off for a bit, and the second round this afternoon. With this second round, we’re anticipating temperatures to fall significantly. A flash freeze is expected with temperatures going from the upper-30s to upper-20s from noon to around 2 p.m.
Any slush needs to be cleared this morning. The snow tapers off by the evening. Windy conditions will prevail throughout the day and breezy overnight. Once this storms exits the region, we could be seeing a wide range of snowfall totals from north to south across our state. In Providence, we’re between 3 to 6 inches forecast accumulation. Things may change this afternoon.
While we deal with the current storm, we’re not losing sight of the next storm system that may bring strong gusty winds and heavy rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday.
