First Step Inn opens temporary overflow shelter Monday night

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The City of Fall River said the First Step Inn’s temporary overflow shelter will be open Monday night due to the cold temperatures.

The First Step Inn, located at 134 Durfee Street, will open the temporary shelter in the first-floor conference room from 4 p.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the city said anyone in need of assistance with transportation or other emergency shelter needs can call the 24-hour homeless hotline at 508-676-3528.

Anyone in need of long-term shelter can call the First Step Inn at 508-679-9001.
