Fisherman rescued from Westerly, Charlestown pond
WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — Westerly and Charlestown emergency responders rescued a fisherman out on Quonochontaug Pond late last night.
It happened around 7 p.m. when a call came in for a reported person who was disoriented out on the pond.
Officials arrived on scene and quickly made contact with the individual via cell phone.
The individuals location was quickly acquired and Marine 1 was deployed into the pond.
Emergency responders picked up the individual off of one of the islands located within the pond.
Charlestown Rescue aided, and stood by the evaluate the patient once they were returned to shore.
