LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Lincoln Fire Department was called to a home on Almy Street Friday morning for reports of a structure fire.

Personnel arrived around 9 a.m. with fire showing on the right side of the building, according to the department.

Crews initially entered through the rear door of the building to get occupant’s pets out.

They were then able to knock down the fire after entering through the front door.

There were no injuries to firefighters or occupants, but the occupants’ cat died as a result of the incident.

Firefighters were able to rescue two dogs from the home.

Three adults and two children are now displaced, and the American Red Cross will be assisting them as the house is unsafe to occupy.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this point and the fire marshal was called to the scene.
