Five suspects charged with kidnapping and murder in Central Falls woman’s death

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — Eight Central Falls residents have now been charged in connection to the death of a 24-year-old woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Pawtucket on October 27.

According to the Central Falls Police Department, the suspects were arrested Monday on various charges related to 24-year-old Erica Bader’s death.

Five suspects are charged with murder, kidnapping and conspiracy:

  • Andrew Cornell, 28
  • Joshua Brunelle, 35
  • Elizabeth Durand, 41
  • Stephanie Bletzer, 37
  • Brittney Terpening, 34

Three other suspects are charged with kidnapping, conspiracy and failure to report a death:

  • Christopher Kordalewski, 22
  • Joanne Miller, 26,
  • Cheryl Blakely, 36

Six of the suspects were previously charged only with failure to report a death.

Blakely and Miller were not named as suspects in the initial stages of the investigation.

Police determined in October that Bader’s body had been moved to Pawtucket from another location.

The investigation led police to a residence on Central Street in Central Falls.

According to the RISPCA, the residence was also found to be a hoarding site of 46 cats and four dogs.

Several of the cats are now up for adoption.

The investigation into Bader’s death was a joint effort of Central Falls and Pawtucket police, along with the Rhode Island AG’s office and State Medical Examiner.

The suspects were arraigned by a justice of the peace Monday night and will be formally arraigned in 6th District Court in Providence Tuesday.
