Five-year-old wins battle with leukemia

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — One brave soldier, Amelia Bernard, rang the bell this morning to celebrate her last chemotherapy treatment.

Amelia was diagnosed with B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February 2022.

Today, five-year-old Amelia marched out of the hospital after a 772 day battle with cancer.

She was applauded by supporters and transported by limousine service from Hasbro Children’s Hospital back to her home in Warwick.

Amelia’s mother, Carly, shared:

“After a long and grueling 772 days Amelia is finally able to ring that bell and say that she beat cancer. Despite these being the longest, hardest days of our lives Amelia has continued to shine and prove to the world just how strong she truly is.”
