Flash flood warning issued for Southern New England Tuesday
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A flash flood warning was issued for parts of Southern New England on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service said the flash flood warning is in effect until 2 p.m. for Providence County in Rhode Island and parts of southeastern Massachusetts including Bristol and Worcester counties.
Heavy rain has already caused some flooding in the region.
The NWS said for drivers to turn around if they see flooding, and to never attempt to drive through standing water.
An ABC 6 News crew saw a vehicle get stuck in water on Pleasant Street in Fall River.
Police were sent to the area to help drivers get through safely.
A flood watch was initially issued for the region from 3 a.m. Tuesday to midnight Wednesday.
