Flight headed to T.F. Green diverted to Florida after passenger disturbance

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Federal Aviation Administration said a flight from Orlando, Florida, heading for T.F. Green in Warwick was rerouted after an on-board passenger disturbance.

According to the administration, Breeze Airways Flight 717 landed safely at Jacksonville International Airport around 6 p.m. eastern time Tuesday.

Officials said crew members on the plane reported a passenger disturbance that required the Jacksonville FBI to respond.

Breeze Airways released a statement regarding the incident which reads in part, “Breeze is working with the authorities in Jacksonville to investigate the situation. Safety is our paramount concern and we will share more information as it becomes available.”

The statement reads further that all passengers were able to make it off the plane safely.

A representative from Breeze Airways further explained that the airline is providing passengers with housing and new plane tickets to return to Rhode Island Wednesday morning.

According to Amanda Videll, the lead Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville FBI office, there was no credible threat to the passengers.

Information about the nature of the disturbance was not immediately released.
