Flooding a main concern for people after more snow Tuesday

WYOMING, R.I. (WLNE) — Many parts of Rhode Island got snow and mixed precipitation Tuesday, adding on to an already stormy season.

“It’s New England. It’s Rhode Island. It’s like that,” said Mary Jo Matson of Hopkinton. “It has been a long time since we have had a winter like this. I don’t mind it.”

Some after-school activities and other town programs were canceled this afternoon because of that weather, a list of which you can find here.

For people shopping in the Richmond area Tuesday, their main concern with the recent storms is the flooding.

“I am worried about flooding,” Matson said. “The ponds and dams are pretty full, it is concerning.”

“A lot of the dams are almost bursting at the seams,” Matson added. “The water is rising and it has a lot of flow to it.”
