Flyers advertising far-right Proud Boys group found in driveways in Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department said a number of flyers advertising white supremacist group the Proud Boys were found on Feb. 1.
Police responded to Princeton Avenue for a call reporting the flyer in a plastic bag filled with landscaping stones.
The department said that the flyers appeared to have been randomly distributed among the properties on the street.
Eight bags were collected in total and police said there were no threatening messages or insignias on the flyers.
The Anti-Defamation League characterized the group as a “right-wing extremist group with a history of using violence, targeted harassment and intimidation to achieve their political goals,” while the Southern Poverty Law Center said the group has “appeared alongside other hate groups at extremist gatherings such as the ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville, Va.”
