Forensics and tech experts take the stand in Karen Read retrial

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Testimony resumed in the murder retrial of Karen Read on Tuesday.

The court is considering the potential testimony of two controversial defense experts, Daniel Wolfe and Andrew Rentshcler from the forensics company, ARCCA, were on the stand Monday without the jury.

Judge Beverly Cannone has yet to rule on whether they’ll be allowed to testify, or if she’ll limit their testimony.

Judge Cannone was previously looking into witness allegations that Read’s defense paid the two of them after they were presented as independent.

Meanwhile, cross examination continued Tuesday for tech expert Ian Whiffin.

According to Boston affiliate WCVB, he’s being questioned about cell phone data from O’Keefe’s cell phone, specifically, the temperature of the phone battery.

It’s in an effort to determine how long the phone was outside, and whether it was ever taken in to the house where O’Keefe’s body was found.
