Former Massachusetts police officer charged with child rape due back in court
WINTHROP, Mass. (WLNE) — A former police officer accused of child rape will be back in court today.
Former Winthrop Police Department Lt. James Feeley was arrested back in December of last year after an investigation by state police.
He charged with one count of aggravated rape of a child and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
In January, a two-year-old child was found unresponsive in the former home of Feeley.
She would later die at the hospital.
In March of this year, he appeared in court on one count of aggravated rape of a child and seven counts of indecent assault and batter on a child under 14.
Feeley has since confessed to abusing his foster child while standing at his parent’s gravesites, holding a gun on Christmas night.
