Former Patriot Malcolm Butler due back in court Thursday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Due in court today is former New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler.

Butler was arrested back in March on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence.

According to police documents, the officer who arrested Butler says his car was stopped and blocking a lane of traffic.

The officer also mentions that Butler smelled strongly of alcohol and was slurring his speech.

Butler refused to take any sobriety tests at the scene.

Butler is due in court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
