UPDATE: Former Patriot Malcolm Butler pleads not guilty on DUI charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Former New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler appeared in court Thursday following a DUI arrest.

Butler pleaded not guilty to the charges and will be allowed to travel.

His next court date will be April 18.

According to the police report, Butler was arrested on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence on Saturday, March 16th.

The officer who arrested Butler says Butler’s car was stopped and blocking a lane of traffic.

The officer also said that Butler smelled strongly of alcohol and was slurring his speech.

Butler refused to take any sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested.
